Meet Your Host:
I’m Latoya Morris — a story-driven, Christ-centered Bible teacher helping believers understand Scripture with clarity, confidence, and real spiritual depth.
For over a decade, I’ve coached leaders, guided women in faith and purpose, and taught the Bible in a way that makes it come alive—through narrative clarity, context, and Christ-centered insight. This is Equip the Next, and you're listening to Faith Fuel, quick encouragement for bold living. Ever feel like the Bible doesn't connect to real life? You don't want to miss this. So if you are new, welcome. I'm just gonna get right to it. You know, the book of James is all about lived out faith. Because God doesn't just want you to hear his word, he wants you to apply it. The smallest obedience is better than knowing obedience. And so I wanted to encourage you. We're going to kind of go over the book of James this Wednesday. So stay tuned for that. Hopefully, you have subscribed so that you can get updated and get the little mini emails that we send out. But I just wanted to encourage you that though the Bible is not about us, we've already established that. If you've been listening to me for some time, it's about God, it's about Jesus. But sometimes there can feel like a disconnect. You can be like, what does this have to do with me? It has everything to do with you because Jesus died for you. It's just like if you're in a relationship with somebody, you want to know everything about them. You don't want to just hear other people talking about them. You want to know who he is. It safeguards you, it protects you from faulty thinking and false teachers and being a part of things that I mean, I've I've seen so many people that have been a part of cult-like behavior because they just simply didn't know the word for themselves. They didn't know that they could learn the word for themselves. But you can. So if you feel like it doesn't connect to your real life, I want you to first read it in context, understand the book, the author, who it's about. And then when you're going in the application process, look at it from a lens of how does this scripture relate to me in light of who God is? Take yourself out of the equation. It will free you up. It will allow you to take the chains and the binds and the bondage off, thinking that you had to live up to something that you can never live up to. Because it's faith. It has to do with faith. That's where your salvation comes. It has nothing to do with works. But when you have the faith and you do believe, then it will transform you. His word will transform you. So you know how it goes. Faith fuel, it's it's quick, it's easy, and that's all I got for you today. But remember, grow in God's word and lead boldly.
