SPEAKER_00:

This is Equip the Next, and you're listening to Faith Fuel, quick encouragement for bold living. Ever hear a verse used in a way that didn't make sense or sound right to you? You don't want to miss this. I'm gonna get right into it because I think that context is key. Context is like a safety net. God's word was written to be understood as a whole story, not as snippets. You don't go into your favorite show in the middle of it, right? You look at the whole picture. When you see the bigger picture, his truth comes alive and you get more clarity, more focus. At the end of the day, it's important that we shut out all distractions and we focus on God's word when we have that alone time, when we have that study time. That can be hard if you have a heart a lot um a large family or you're really busy, but try to make time intentionally to just read a passage. I I love to read the epistles, which are the letters in the New Testament. They're meant to be read like you would read a letter, so straight through if you're able to. I think Bible Hub probably does this, I'm not sure, but you can go and get the verse or the the the chapter or the book, and you can remove the numbers of each verse and the subheadings and just copy and paste it on a piece of paper and then print it out and read it like it's a letter. It really does make a difference. Remove the footnotes and the maps and just read it. Context is context is important. Unfortunately, a lot of people, because of schedules, time, whatever, they sometimes don't look at context and they can take it out of scripture. I mean, out of context. They can take the scripture out of context. Maybe they're in a hurry, maybe they're rushing, or maybe they are up against the wall and have a huge congregation that they have to appease because people will write them letters and bam on their door. You shouldn't be people pleasing, but that's just the reality of it. And so it's important that you, when you're looking at a passage of scripture, you remember and you remind yourself that context is key. When you hear a verse, don't be afraid to look it up for yourself. This is what the Bereans did. They understood, they didn't take anybody at face value. Not to go, you're not looking to go and find fault or to look and see, oh, that's wrong. Let me find, you know, let me prove them wrong. No, you're learning to get you're growing in reading to get clarity for for you to understand the word so that you can understand what God is saying to his people, and then how you can apply that enough in light of who God is. So I just want to remind you that context is key. It's important. Listen, that's today's faith fuel. Remember, grow in God's word and lead boldly. Till next time.
